Crime victims as well as all other New Yorkers can now use their touch-tone phones to make toll-free calls to get information about convicted felony offenders in the custody (VINE) of the Department of Correctional Services (DOCS) - the state's prison system, 1-888-VINE-4NY or at their website at www.vinelink.com - (a) click on your state, (b) click the "Search" tab for offender or court case by entering the offender name or identification number (c) click on the magnifying glass icon next to the offender for details and the option to register for notification (d) then Register for notification by selecting the method of notification:
enter a phone number and/or email address where you can be reached; create and enter a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will be used to stop notification calls; click the plus sign to register additional phone numbers or email addresses; and click "Register" - Registration Complete.
